#1 Convoy Crestview will take the field against #13 Danville. Danville is in unchartered water making their first state final four appearance. The Knox County rep has continued to impress along the tourney trail knocking out team after team with solid pitching and timely hitting. Presley and Matheny will look to lead the way for the Blue Devils along with Connor and their do-it-all player in Payne. A great victory over Ashland Crestview in the regional finals caught the eye of many. I had Danville as high as #6 this season in my rankings. They are no slouch. Convoy Crestview is making their astounding 7th state final four appearance and are in hopes of capturing another state title. They are led by First Team All-State Melissa Eickholt who at one point was batting around .600. The short stop stud is equally impressive on the field with her defense. The Knights showcase a youthful sophomore pitcher along with a very explosive offense. #11 North Lewisburg Triad will take on newcomer #6 Warren JFK. Triad is making their 3rd straight final four and are in hopes of winning their second state title in school history (1992). Triad has an outstanding pitcher in Morgan Ryan and a superb catcher in Brooks. First Team All-State shortstop Amber Herron also comprises this SW Ohio squad who look to get back to the state title game. They took some losses early to much larger schools, including 3 losses at the infamous Wendy's Classic. 2 other losses were to nail biters against D3 Final Four participant West Liberty Salem. While Warren JFK makes their first appearance in the state tournament, they do not come without a great resume. They have played a tough schedule around the greater Youngstown area against much larger schools as well. Rachel Pico is first-team All-State selection who will be leading the charge on the mound. JFK did derail the 2 time defending state champion Dalton in the regional semi-finals which proves their legitimacy.
